Final Opening sequence: Hollow Earth

Hollow Earth
Welcome to my blog. After many weeks of endless effort, dedication and time I have finally finished my main task. The video below is the final version of my approximately two minute opening sequence. This sequence was set around a brief, saying that we must make a two minute opening sequence with titles and a genera of my choice. On this blog I have also tracked my progress from when I first started AS media studies. Overall from this blog and my final opening sequence I am happy and proud of what I have achieved over the past year and I hope you will enjoy reading my blog as much as I have writing it.

Thank you

Evaluation Question 5

Quesion 5
How did you attract/ address your audience

Most big film companies use promotional propaganda when advertising there film. There are many different types of propaganda and advertisement this can range from TV adverts and trailers to posters. Some examples of posters can be:

These examples of billboard advertising show that there are many different ways of showing of your film be it just a plane advert like the "Bad grandpa" which states the name of the film, main actor and release date. Or you can be inventive like the "district 9" which has been clever with its advert as it designed to a similar world as the film is set in saying it is "Forbidden to pick up non-humans" and being very subtle with the name. this advert is more it intrigue you rather than tell you what it is.

Another way of advertising is like the "TED" advert which assumes you know what the film is either about of that you have herd of the film. This does not specify the date but informs you that it will be coming soon.

These examples of film Advertisements in the form of trailers which show short snippets of the film and try to make you interested in the film. The examples I have included is:

Transformers:Age of extinction, The lego movie and the amazing spider-man 2.
Trailers are becoming more and more popular as media technology continues to advance. As better affects and improvements to equipment become better.
Similarly to posters and billboard adverts a trailer is designed to intrigue you and make you more excited for the film. Trailers are one of the most useful types of advertising because it gives your audience a idea of what the film is going to be about and what type of film/genera it is going to be for example a trailer can make you express similar feelings to what the film will e.g. sadness, fear, excitement, suspense etc. However as for our task we only had to make a opening sequence so trying to make a trailer is very difficult as we do not have a full film, as most film trailers show footage from through out the film.

To attract our audience we created a movie poster. The poster is designed to intrigue the reader in to finding out more about this film. The poster clearly states the title of the film and the date of release. The date has been placed top central to attract the readers look towards it and the title has been placed along side the image to also draw your attention to aid in this the title is in a different font and is much bigger than the rest of the information. The smaller writhing at the top includes:
Lead actor,
Director,
Editor,
Cinematography,
Sound,
Production Company.

The atmosphere of the poster also links in with the post apocalyptic setting so give that idea to the reader.
